Verdejo may not be as well-known as other whites, but it’s one of the best-kept secrets in white wine and we’ve been fans for years. Ossian’s 94-point Verdejo, however, is in a league of its own. With the rare ability to drink beautifully young while also aging magnificently, this stunner is well worth the splurge. Rich yet fresh, this organically farmed gem offers notes of dried apple, pear, and citrus, balanced by hints of fennel, chamomile, and saffron. Wine Advocate hails it as “tasty, clean, fresh and balanced,” and we couldn’t agree more. A serious wine of complexity, concentration, and vibrant acidity, this is Verdejo at its finest! At 33% off and easily $10 cheaper than anywhere else, this is truly a special find.

• "The 2021 Ossian was produced with Verdejo grapes from old, organically farmed vines on sand and stony soils around the village of Nieva in the province of Segovia—Aldeanueva del Codonal, Aldehuela del Codonal, Ochando, Melque de Cercos, Nava de la Asunción, Moraleja de Coca and Santiuste de San Juan Bautista—a zone where phylloxera didn't reach. The plots were vinified separately in 300- to 600-liter oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, and the wines matured there with the lees for around nine months. It's spicy and has notes of yellow fruit, hay and straw, with moderate alcohol (13.5%); it's tasty, clean, fresh and balanced. 50,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022." - 94 Points, Wine Advocate
