Campion is owned by Larry Brooks, who was a part owner and the winemaker for Acacia in Carneros.  Larry is now focusing only on Pinot Noir for the Campion label.  He produces Pinot Noir from his own property in Carneros as well as excellent sites in Santa Lucia and Edna Valley.  Larry has told me to watch the Edna Valley appellation as it becomes home to some of California's finest Pinot Noirs, he also refers to Pinot Noir as a dipolamt at the dinner table, as it gets along with almost anything,

The Carr Cabernet Sauvingon released in January of 2006 is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 5% Syrah. This heady cuvee was blended after 28 months in French and American Oak. 43% French and over 35% new. An expression of Rutherford terroir highlighted with  black current flavors. Deep in color with plum and ripe berry aromas, as well as a hint of smoke and vanilla.

The 2001 Napa Valley Cabernet is a stunning wine from the vintage everyone has been waiting for. Deliciously concentrated and gracefully classic, the flavors continue to unfold and mesmerize on this voluptuous Cabernet. The wonderful balance of smooth, rich, ripe varietal characteristics are so enjoyable...a winner.

Conundrum is truly a California wine, including grapes from the Napa, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Tulare counties. For the 2005 vintage, grapes were brought in over a two and a-half month period beginning August 30^th - a couple weeks later than normal. Sauvignon Blanc was first, coming from eight different Napa Valley vineyards, where the warm weather can bring out this grape’s green-melon-like character at one vineyard site and its fresh-cut-grass character at another site. The next grape variety to ripen was Muscat Canelli, from warm Tulare County.  Muscat is the grape that gives Conundrum its high-toned, floral aroma, along with some equally floral, cool-climate Viognier we grew in Monterey County. We also grew most of our Chardonnay and other varietals in Monterey County, one of the coolest, driest growing regions in California.  The long season there—we harvested Chardonnay through November 19—allows the grapes to develop deeply ripe flavors and golden color while retaining great natural acidity.

A mouth full of fruit that is sweet, round and complex which is supported by nice acidity and supple ripe tannins, this Cabernet Sauvignon highlights Knights Valley’s characteristically bright cherry fruit and sweet vanilla oak and pie spice aromas.

Martin Ray was a legendary winemaker for his winery from 1946 until 1972, his brand was revived in 1988 by the current owner, Courtney Benham.   This Russian River Valley Chardonnay has notes of apples, peaches and a hint of vanilla, it is rich and ripe with crisp notes and a lingering finish of more fruits.

This Zinfandel is a blend of wines from various regions of California. The cuvee concept allows us to produce a rich and fruity wine by combining separate, unique lots of Zinfandel representing the finest characteristics of the state’s coastal, inland, mountain and valley fruit.

The final blend shows lovely raspberry and cherry fruit, and an overall complexity rare to comparably priced Zinfandels.

The cool coastal breezes of the Russian River appellation produce some of the most widely-acclaimed Pinot Noir grapes. Bogle winemakers worked with long-time growers in this region to create this year’s vintage. A wine of structure and finesse, floral aromas of crushed rose petals and violets are welcoming and inviting. Dense fruit flavors of black cherry integrate with moderately toasty oak overtones. The lingering impression on the palate is one of firmly weighted fruit with a soft, silky finish, echoing with touches of pipe tobacco and earthy leather. This wine is elegance with accessibility.
