South Africa
South Africa's Cape has a wine industry that is more than 300 years old. The vineyards are situated predominantly in the southwestern portion of the country where the cold breezes off the ocean moderate the warm climate. The wine areas are divided into Regions, Districts and Wards. The cooler regions produce fine Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc (Steen) Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while the warmer areas are best suited for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah (Shiraz).

Goats Do Roam
Goats Do Roam Rhone Red 2005
South Africa, WINES
Made in the style of the Côtes-du-Rhône, this is an appealing fruit-driven but elegant shiraz-based blend also containing such typical warm-blooded varieties as cinsaut, grenache and gamay noir, with pinotage adding some Cape colour and a dash of cabernet sauvignon and merlot contributing to the structure. It’s a lightly oaked wine, combining juicy ripe fruit with gentle tannins for a fresh, ready-to-drink style. BIN: 0089419962017
